Tottenham Hotspur captain Cristian “Cuti” Romero has officially signed a new contract that will keep him at the North London club until June 2029. The deal was finalized on Friday, sealing his long-term commitment to Spurs.

Romero, who joined Tottenham from Atalanta in 2021, has become a defensive mainstay and was named club captain earlier this year. Widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top centre-backs, the World Cup-winning Argentine has been pivotal to the team’s progress under manager Ange Postecoglou.

By extending his stay for another five years, Romero has made clear his decision to continue leading Spurs’ project. The announcement comes as a major boost for the club and its supporters, reaffirming Tottenham’s ambitions to build a stable, competitive squad around its core leaders.
