The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended Senator Gbenga Daniel and Hon. Kunle Folarin for alleged anti-party activities. The decision was ratified by the State Working Committee (SWC) during a meeting held on August 19, 2025, chaired by Chief Yemi Sanusi.

According to a statement by the APC State Director of Publicity, Nuberu Olufemi, both Daniel and Folarin were suspended by their respective wards—Ward 4 and Ward 6 of Sagamu Local Government Area. The suspensions followed their failure to appear before disciplinary committees set up to review complaints against them. The committees had invited the members to present evidence or defend themselves but reported that both individuals did not respond to the invitations.

The APC emphasized that the suspensions were in line with party procedures and due process. The party’s commitment to upholding discipline and procedures was reiterated, with the suspension pending further review and outcomes of the ongoing internal processes.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions between Daniel and Governor Dapo Abiodun. Daniel had previously accused the governor of ordering the demolition of his properties in Sagamu, including his private residence and Conference Hotels Limited. He described the actions as politically motivated persecution.

The APC’s action underscores the party’s stance on internal discipline and adherence to its constitution. Further developments are expected as the internal review processes continue.
