Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has approved a new work schedule that grants two days off per week for civil servants on Grade Levels 01-14, while those on Grade Levels 15-17 will continue with one day off per week.

The Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, announced the policy, explaining that it aims to ease the commuting burden on workers while enhancing their productivity. “This gesture is expected to translate to substantial relief while also enhancing service delivery through a more motivated and energized workforce,” Onasanya said.

He noted that Governor Abiodun is deeply committed to the welfare of workers and has urged accounting officers in Ministries, Departments, and Agencies to implement the new schedule without disrupting service delivery.

The decision builds on a policy introduced by the governor in July 2023, which gave all civil servants one day off per week. The expansion to two days for lower-grade workers is intended to further reduce financial pressures and boost morale.
