In a bid to modernize agriculture and create opportunities for young entrepreneurs, Ogun State Government has partnered with Soilless Farm Lab to promote technology-driven farming among youth. The collaboration was officially highlighted during the graduation of the 12th cohort of the Enterprise for Youth in Agriculture (EYIA) program, in partnership with the Mastercard Foundation.

The initiative aims to equip young Nigerians with skills in modern farming techniques, good agricultural practices, and nutrition, strengthening the country’s vegetable value chain. As part of the program, graduates have access to ₦5 million in grants and land support to start and scale their agribusiness ventures. Many participants have already established successful enterprises, contributing to local food security.

Speaking at the event, Ogun State officials emphasized their commitment to building a technology-driven agricultural economy that not only attracts investment but also empowers youth. The partnership with Soilless Farm Lab underscores the government’s dedication to fostering innovation, particularly in soilless farming methods such as hydroponics and aeroponics, which are reshaping Nigeria’s agri-tech landscape.

This collaboration reflects a growing trend across Nigeria, where young innovators are leveraging agri-tech to improve productivity, sustainability, and food security in climate-stressed regions. By combining modern technology with skill development, Ogun State is positioning its youth as key drivers of the country’s agricultural transformation. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
