



The Ogun State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) and Renew Power Limited to establish a 500-megawatt Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Manufacturing Plant in the state. The landmark partnership is a major stride toward achieving a sustainable energy future and advancing Nigeria’s clean energy transition.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, who announced the development, said the initiative will promote energy access, enhance industrial capacity, and position Ogun State as a leading hub in Africa’s renewable energy ecosystem. He noted that the collaboration aligns with the state’s broader economic agenda to diversify its economy, create jobs, and attract strategic investments in high-impact sectors.
According to the Governor, the Solar PV manufacturing plant will significantly expand local capacity for clean energy production, reduce dependence on imports, and lay the groundwork for inclusive and environmentally responsible industrial growth. He emphasized that Ogun State remains committed to innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency as part of its long-term development vision.
