Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen could be set for a cameo in Turkish cinema following a light-hearted exchange with popular actor and director Şahan Gökbakar, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.

The Galatasaray striker met Gökbakar, famed for his Recep İvedik film series, and jokingly asked if he might be cast in future projects. “Are you going to give me roles in movies?” Osimhen quipped.

Gökbakar replied, “Of course,” before later teasing the idea on social media. “Osi Baba wanted a role in movies. Shall we make a surprise at Recep 8?” he wrote, sparking reactions from fans and celebrities alike. Turkish pop star Simge Sağın joined the discussion, praising Osimhen as “an incredibly good man” and wishing him continued happiness.

Osimhen has already dipped into acting, recently featuring in the Drawing commercial. A potential move into film would further enhance the striker’s profile as one of Africa’s biggest football stars.

On the pitch, Osimhen made his first appearance of the new Super Lig campaign on Saturday, coming on as a second-half substitute in Galatasaray’s 3-0 win over Fatih Karagümrük at Rams Park. Though he didn’t score, the victory preserved the champions’ perfect start to the season and lifted them to the top of the table.

The 25-year-old, last season’s top scorer, is expected to play a key role as Galatasaray chase back-to-back league titles.
