After a frustrating summer transfer window that saw last-minute moves to Chelsea and Al Ahly fall through, the 25-year-old Nigerian striker made a bold statement in his first appearance for the Yellow-Reds. He provided an assist in the commanding Game Week 5 victory at RAMS Park in Istanbul, where Davinson Sánchez, Abdülkerim Bardakcı, Gabriel Sara, Dries Mertens, and Baris Yılmaz all found the back of the net.
