Agricultural stakeholders in Oyo State are urging the adoption of digital agriculture extension services to improve farming productivity.

At a meeting held at the International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), officials, farmer groups, private sector representatives, and development partners discussed leveraging the AI-enabled Digital Agriculture Extension Service (DAES) to bridge the gap between farmers and extension officers.

Governor Seyi Makinde emphasized the importance of digital tools in delivering timely expert advice directly to farmers via mobile phones. Organizers, including the Sasakawa Africa Association (SAA) and African Forum for Agricultural Advisory Services (AFAAS), highlighted the need for regulatory clarity and sustainable collaboration.

The initiative aims to modernize farming in Oyo State, increase efficiency, and support long-term agribusiness growth. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
