A Paris court on Thursday sentenced Mathias Pogba, the brother of France midfielder Paul Pogba, to three years in prison, with two years suspended, after convicting him in a high-profile extortion case.

Mathias Pogba will serve the one-year sentence with an electronic bracelet instead of being incarcerated.

The court also fined him 20,000 euros for his role in attempting to extort 13 million euros ($13.5 million) from Paul Pogba in 2022, as well as for pressuring the player, his family, and business contacts to secure the payment.
