The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has formally issued expulsion certificates to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and ten other prominent figures previously expelled at the party’s Ibadan convention. National Chairman Kabiru Turaki, SAN, confirmed that the move follows Nigerian law prohibiting dual membership in political parties, ensuring the former PDP members can now freely join other political parties without legal complications.
Turaki explained that the certificates serve as official proof of their separation from the PDP, allowing the expelled officials to present them to any party they choose to join. The 11 recipients, including former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose and Senators Samuel Anyanwu and Mao Ohuabunwa, have all been notified via courier. This decisive step signals a new chapter in Nigeria’s political landscape, leaving many to speculate on potential alignments ahead of future elections.
As these political heavyweights chart their next moves, the implications for party loyalty, governance, and voter influence remain uncertain. How will this shake-up reshape Nigeria’s political alliances and impact the citizens who rely on their leadership? Visit www.jocomms.com for more news
