The Abdulrahman Mohammed-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has taken control of the party’s national headquarters at Wadata Plaza ahead of its 103rd Board of Trustees and National Executive Committee meeting.
According to reports by Timothy Yusuf, the PDP secretariat and surrounding areas are currently under the supervision of security personnel. Senator Samuel Anyanwu, national secretary of the Abdulrahman faction, said the presence of security agents is intended to prevent any breakdown of law and order during the meeting.
Meanwhile, the faction led by Kabiru Turaki has yet to arrive at the secretariat for its own scheduled meeting as of the time of this report.
The developments underscore ongoing tensions within the PDP, as rival factions continue to assert authority over party leadership and strategic decisions.
