The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the provisional list of governorship candidates and their running mates for the June 20, 2026, Ekiti State election, but the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is notably absent.

While candidates from 12 other political parties were successfully listed, the name of PDP’s flagbearer, Dr. Wole Oluyede, a medical expert who won the party’s November 9, 2025 primary conducted under the Umar Damagum-led National Working Committee (NWC), does not appear on the list displayed at INEC’s state office along New Iyin Road, Ado-Ekiti.

Observers say the omission comes amid ongoing internal disputes within the PDP, raising questions about the party’s preparedness for the forthcoming governorship election.
