Former Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi has officially announced his defection to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Speaking at a meeting with his supporters in Enugu, Obi said the move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen opposition unity and ensure a fair electoral process in the 2027 general election.

Obi emphasized that he and his supporters will do “everything possible to stop electoral fraud and rigging,” signaling a commitment to transparency and democratic integrity.

The development has sparked political discussions nationwide, with key figures acknowledging the shift while some, including the Abia State governor, have clarified they will not follow Obi to the ADC.
