A powerful storm that swept through the Philippines has left at least 10 people dead and forced tens of thousands to evacuate their homes, officials said on Sunday.
The storm triggered widespread flooding, landslides, and power outages across several provinces. Local governments ordered mass evacuations in low-lying and coastal areas as rivers swelled and strong winds toppled trees and electricity lines.
Rescue teams are continuing to reach isolated communities, while disaster officials warned that the death toll could rise as assessments continue. Authorities have also advised residents to remain alert for flash floods and further landslides even as the storm moves out of Philippine territory.
