Muhammadu Sanusi II, emir of Kano, has commenced lectures at Northwest University, Kano, as a 200-level law student.
Sanusi joined other students for lectures on Tuesday, dressed in a black flowing apparel and white turban.
His appearance in class comes days after the university offered him special admission into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programme in Common and Sharia Law.
According to the university, the admission was granted in recognition of his vast experience in governance, economics and public service.

Established in 2012, Northwest University is one of two universities owned by the Kano State Government.
Despite being a PhD holder and former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Sanusi has continued to champion education, social reform and intellectual engagement, remaining a prominent and often provocative voice in Nigeria’s public space.
He is widely known for his expertise in economics and finance, as well as his advocacy for education and social reform.
