British TV personality Piers Morgan has launched a scathing attack on Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag, accusing him of driving Cristiano Ronaldo out of Old Trafford and mismanaging the club’s top players. Morgan described the Dutchman as an “idiot” for mishandling the situation with Ronaldo, who left United in late 2022 under contentious circumstances.
Speaking on the issue, Morgan criticized Ten Hag’s management style, saying, “Ten Hag is a complete idiot… he talks in complete gibberish.” He argued that Ten Hag’s inability to handle top talent has led to the departure of Ronaldo, who has scored 901 career goals and continues to excel for Portugal.
Morgan pointed out that Ten Hag has struggled to manage other star players, such as Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, while seemingly being more comfortable with lesser-known players, particularly those he brought from Ajax. He argued that Manchester United has regressed under Ten Hag, even performing worse than last season.
Morgan believes Ronaldo would have been a far better option than United’s current strikers, stating, “The guy, the greatest that has ever played the game… would have been immeasurably better than any of the strikers they’ve currently got.”
Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 145 goals and made 64 assists in 346 games across two stints at Manchester United, remains one of the most prolific players in football history. Morgan concluded by predicting that Ronaldo, already the top goal scorer in football, will reach 1,000 career goals, further solidifying his legacy.
