The Policy Monitoring and Accountability Foundation (PMAF) has praised Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), for his transformative leadership and commitment to reforming tax administration in Nigeria.
At a meeting in Lagos, PMAF, comprising policy analysts and civil society leaders, applauded Adedeji’s contributions to workforce development, governance reforms, and public service delivery. PMAF Coordinator Mr. Kolawole Samson described Adedeji as a forward-thinking leader who prioritizes citizen welfare.
“Dr. Zacch has redefined leadership in public service. FIRS is setting the standard for effective, people-centered governance,” Samson said.
The Foundation highlighted notable achievements under Adedeji’s leadership, including the ₦18.5 trillion revenue generated so far—approaching the agency’s ₦19.4 trillion target. They attributed this success to his focus on efficiency, accountability, and equitable revenue allocation through initiatives like the Tax Reform Bill.
Samson further commended Adedeji’s staff-centered approach, citing merit-based promotions and improved workplace conditions.
The group urged other government agencies to emulate his results-oriented leadership, describing FIRS under Adedeji as a model for excellence in public administration.
