The Presidency has directed the National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) to establish greenhouses for vegetable cultivation at strategic locations across the country.
This initiative is part of the administration’s broader efforts to strengthen food security, promote agricultural innovation, and reduce Nigeria’s dependence on seasonal farming patterns.
According to the directive, the greenhouses will enable year-round vegetable production, ensuring a steady supply of fresh produce to markets nationwide while reducing post-harvest losses and stabilising prices.
The project also aims to empower farmers through modern agricultural technology, create employment opportunities, and support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for sustainable food self-sufficiency.
