The Presidency has awarded Mista-Ali community leader, Sarki Danladi of Bassa Local Government Area, a cash prize in recognition of his outstanding commitment to peace and social cohesion.
The award acknowledges Sarki Danladi’s exemplary performance in the Community Social Cohesion Challenge, where he demonstrated efforts to foster peaceful coexistence across religious and ethnic lines while collaboratively addressing local security challenges.
The initiative was organized by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement for North Central, Abiodun Essiet. As part of the recognition, Sarki Danladi received a cash prize of ₦500,000, alongside an intervention project aimed at supporting and sustaining peace efforts within the community.
According to the organizers, Mista-Ali community stands out for its remarkable interfaith solidarity. During periods of unrest in surrounding areas, Christian youths voluntarily protect mosques, while Muslim youths safeguard churches—a practice of mutual protection that continues to this day.
