President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Senator Tanko Al-Makura as the Chairman of the Governing Board of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC).
Senator Al-Makura, a former governor of Nasarawa State and one-time senator, brings years of experience in public service and governance to the role.
His appointment is expected to strengthen ongoing efforts to improve access to and the quality of basic education across Nigeria.
