President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Recapitalizes Bank Of Agriculture With ₦1.5 Trillion, Boosts ECOWAS Food Security Efforts

Under the distinguished leadership of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Federal Government of Nigeria has recapitalized the Bank of Agriculture with ₦1.5 trillion and committed over ₦200 billion to targeted agricultural interventions aimed at enhancing food security and empowering farmers across the country.

This bold initiative includes the distribution of 2.15 million bags of fertilizer and the establishment of a national farmer registry expected to cover over 42 million households. These strategic efforts were highlighted by the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, during a high-level engagement with agricultural stakeholders from The Gambia in Abuja.

Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable agricultural mechanization, youth inclusion, and regional collaboration within the ECOWAS framework. The Gambian delegation commended Nigeria’s rice production model and officially requested technical cooperation to replicate the model back home.

The Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, emphasized that Nigeria’s agricultural advancement under President Tinubu’s administration offers a viable roadmap for Africa’s collective food sovereignty.

These significant milestones, officials affirmed, are a direct result of the purposeful and reform-driven governance of His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose Renewed Hope Agenda continues to transform Nigeria’s critical sectors for the betterment of its citizens.
