
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a historic state visit to Enugu on Saturday, January 4, 2025. The visit, the first by the President to the southeastern state, will see him commission a series of transformative projects executed by the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.
The announcement was made in a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Chidiebere Onyia, who expressed the state’s excitement about the President’s visit.
During his one-day visit, President Tinubu will inaugurate several landmark projects, including:
• 30 completed and equipped Smart Green Schools, part of a larger initiative to build 260 across the state’s wards.
• 60 fully equipped Type 2 Primary Healthcare Centres, with plans to complete 260 in total.
• The Enugu International Conference Centre, a multi-functional, world-class facility designed to attract global events.
• 90 newly completed urban roads aimed at improving mobility within Enugu City.
• A state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre equipped with advanced surveillance technology to enhance security.
• 150 AI-enhanced patrol vehicles fitted with cutting-edge surveillance cameras to strengthen law enforcement capabilities.
• A selection of completed rural road projects aimed at improving connectivity across the state.
The visit underscores the collaborative spirit between the federal and state governments in driving development. Governor Mbah’s administration has focused on infrastructure and human capital development, with these projects marking significant strides in improving education, healthcare, transportation, and security in the state.
