In a recent development, President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new Directors-General to head significant government agencies, alongside a Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications. The newly appointed officials are as follows:
1. Mr. Olawale Olopade – Director-General, National Sports Commission
Olopade, a veteran sports administrator, has a long history in the sector. His previous roles include serving as Commissioner of Youth and Sports in Ogun State and leading the Local Organising Committee for the 2024 National Sports Festival. He brings a wealth of experience aimed at advancing sports development in Nigeria.
2. Dr. Abisoye Fagade – Director-General, National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism
Fagade is a marketing communication expert and the founder of Sodium Brand Solutions, a prominent firm in the industry. His appointment is expected to drive growth in Nigeria’s tourism and hospitality sectors, tapping into his background in branding and strategic marketing.
3. Dr. Adebowale Adedokun – Director-General, Bureau of Public Procurement
Adedokun previously served as Director of Research/Training and Strategic Planning at the Bureau of Public Procurement. His expertise in procurement and policy research is anticipated to bring enhanced transparency and efficiency to Nigeria’s public procurement processes.
4. Mr. Daniel Bwala – Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications (State House)
