President Tinubu Applauds Borno Governor Zulum’s People-Focused Initiatives

Maiduguri was a hub of activity on Saturday as President Bola Tinubu arrived in Borno State to celebrate the achievements of Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum. The President commended Zulum for his consistent efforts in improving education, healthcare and transportation, as well as for raising the standard of living for the people of the state.

During the visit, President Tinubu commissioned the international wing of the Muhammadu Buhari Airport, unveiled a new VIP extension, and inspected electric vehicles, intra-state buses and tricycles that will enhance mobility across the region. He also inaugurated three model schools, covering primary, junior and senior secondary levels. “I am commissioning these schools to the glory of God, and for the continuous education of our children,” he said.

The day also held a special personal celebration. The President participated in the marriage ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Governor Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, and Hadiza Kam Salem. Observing Kanuri customs, President Tinubu stood in as the father of the groom, while Governor Zulum received the bride price on behalf of the family. The Shehu of Borno, Alhaji (Dr) Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, hosted the ceremony at the Maiduguri Central Mosque.

The events drew a gathering of prominent figures, including seven state governors, Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina, Agbu Kefas of Taraba, Mai Mala Buni of Yobe, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, and Prince Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, alongside senators and federal ministers.

President Tinubu concluded his visit at 3:25 PM, departing for Bauchi State, leaving behind a message of praise and encouragement for Governor Zulum’s continued dedication to the people of Borno.
