
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the constitution of the Board of the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF), an agency under the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy. The Minister, Dr. Bosun Tijani, will serve as Chairman of the board.
The newly appointed members include Idris Olorunimbe as Vice Chairman, Abraham Oshidami, Rimini Makama, Aliyu Edogi Aliyu (representative of the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy), Joseph B. Faluyi (representative of the Federal Ministry of Finance), Auwal Mohammed (representative of the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning), Uzoma Dozie, Peter Bankole, Abayomi Anthony Okanlawon, Gafar Oluwasegun Quadri, and the USPF Secretary.
The USPF was established by the Federal Government to facilitate the achievement of national policy goals for universal access to information and communication technologies in rural, unserved, and underserved areas of Nigeria.
The appointments are expected to strengthen the Fund’s capacity to deliver on its mandate and expand ICT access to more communities across the country.
