President Tinubu Appoints New Heads of Key Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of new heads for three federal agencies, in a move aimed at strengthening institutions and enhancing service delivery across critical sectors.

In the National Biosafety Management Agency, Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State has been appointed as the new Director-General for an initial four-year term, effective September 18, 2025. His appointment is in line with the provisions of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency Act, 2015.

Similarly, Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu from Zamfara State has been named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal. He will serve a five-year term, also effective from September 18, 2025.

The President further approved the appointment of Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan as the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation. His four-year tenure took effect from September 2, 2025. President Tinubu urged the appointees to deploy their expertise in advancing the mandates of their respective agencies for the progress and benefit of the nation.
