Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack has been sworn in by President Bola Tinubu to serve as the new head of the Federation’s civil service.

The short ceremony was held in the State House’s Council Chambers prior to the Federal Executive Council meeting starting.

President Tinubu authorized the selection of the new Head of State last month, with Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the current Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, scheduled to retire on August 13, 2024.

After serving in multiple Ministries, Mrs. Walson-Jack was selected as the Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017.

At the State House in Abuja, President Tinubu is currently presiding over the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting. A week has passed since he left the FEC meeting to chair an urgent meeting of the National Security Council.

The security council meeting came after the #EndBadGovernance protest escalated into riots and various criminal activities that resulted in deaths and the destruction of both public and private property.

Attendees included service chiefs and other heads of security, law enforcement, and intelligence agencies.
