The Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved additional funding for the completion of the Cham–Numan section of the Yola–Gombe federal highway, a key road linking Adamawa and Gombe States. The project, which had faced delays due to heavy rainfall and other logistical challenges, is now set to resume with renewed momentum.

Mr. Demas Tuwai, Controller of the Federal Ministry of Works in Adamawa State, confirmed the development, stating that work on the road would restart within the next six weeks. He added that the contractor has already begun mobilizing materials and equipment to the site to ensure swift progress once construction recommences.

The Yola–Gombe road is a vital artery for trade, travel, and socio-economic activities in the North-East. Once completed, it is expected to significantly ease transportation, improve safety, and enhance connectivity between the two states.

Authorities have appealed to motorists and road users to exercise patience and caution while driving through the construction zone. The Federal Government has reassured citizens of its commitment to completing the project, underscoring President Tinubu’s broader focus on infrastructure development as a driver of national growth.
