The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the deployment of 4,000 telecommunications towers across Nigeria as part of efforts to expand network coverage and improve connectivity in underserved communities.

The initiative, aimed at bridging the digital divide, seeks to enhance access to mobile and internet services in rural and remote areas, boosting communication, education, and economic activities. The deployment is expected to strengthen Nigeria’s digital infrastructure and support the country’s growing tech and information sectors.

FEC also emphasised that the project will create jobs and stimulate local economies while ensuring that citizens in previously underserved regions can benefit from modern telecommunications services.
