President Tinubu Arrives in Paris for State Visit to Strengthen Nigeria-France Relations

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu, arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening for a three-day State Visit aimed at fortifying ties between Nigeria and France.

Touching down at Orly Airport at 5:10 p.m., President Tinubu received a ceremonial welcome with full military honours from the French Republican Guard. The visit commenced with an official reception at Les Invalides on Thursday, where French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron greeted the Nigerian delegation.

The visit is set to strengthen cooperation in key areas, including agriculture, security, education, health, youth engagement, innovation, and energy transition. President Tinubu and President Macron will also collaborate on initiatives to enhance youth exchange programs and foster skills in automation, entrepreneurship, and leadership.

Key highlights of the visit include political and diplomatic discussions on finance, solid minerals, trade, and communication, as well as a session hosted by the France-Nigeria Business Council to encourage private sector contributions to economic development.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu and Brigitte Macron will engage in discussions focused on empowering women, children, and vulnerable populations, leveraging Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Initiative.

The state visit will conclude with a state dinner hosted by President Macron at the Palais de l’Élysée, celebrating the shared values and aspirations of both nations. This visit underscores Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships for mutual growth and development.
