The Federal Government has unveiled the revised Service Charter of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), reaffirming its commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence in pension service delivery. The charter, themed “Renewed Commitment to Service Excellence”, was launched in Abuja by the Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who described it as a social contract that prioritises retirees’ welfare and strengthens public trust in government institutions.

The revised charter outlines clear performance metrics, quality commitments, stakeholder feedback mechanisms, and simplified access channels for pensioners. According to PTAD’s Executive Secretary, Mrs. Tolulope Odunaiya, the document serves as a covenant between the government and retirees, providing clarity on service standards and ensuring accountability across all levels of pension administration.

The initiative follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval of a bond programme worth over ₦800 billion to settle outstanding pension liabilities. This intervention, alongside the revised charter, is part of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda to ensure prompt pension payments, enhance service efficiency, and restore dignity to Nigeria’s senior citizens.

Stakeholders, including representatives of PenCom, SERVICOM, and the Public Complaints Commission, welcomed the charter and urged strict implementation to guarantee lasting reforms in the pension sector. The Federal Government assured pensioners that these measures reflect its unwavering determination to build a fair, transparent, and reliable pension system that delivers results.
