President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm felicitations to the former First Lady, Chief Margaret Shonekan, as she marks her 84th birthday on Tuesday, October 28, 2025.

In a statement issued by the Presidency, President Tinubu described Chief Shonekan as a woman of grace and quiet strength, whose life of service and compassion continues to touch many across generations.

The President lauded her unwavering support to her late husband, Chief Ernest Shonekan, former Head of the Interim National Government and distinguished industrialist who served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the United African Company (UAC).

President Tinubu also praised Chief Shonekan’s enduring commitment to humanitarian causes, community development, and the promotion of national unity through acts of kindness and philanthropy.

The President noted that Chief Shonekan represents the finest virtues of dignity, humility, and selfless service, urging younger Nigerians, especially women, to emulate her life of quiet impact and devotion to the greater good.

As she celebrates her 84th birthday, President Tinubu prayed for her continued good health, peace, and joy, surrounded by the love of family, friends, and all those whose lives she has touched.
