The Federal Government has introduced new national standards for Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Electric Vehicles (EVs), marking a significant step in Nigeria’s transition to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes green innovation and environmental responsibility.
The new standards, developed by relevant regulatory bodies and technical experts, are designed to guide the safe production, importation, maintenance, and usage of CNG and electric vehicles across the country. They aim to reduce carbon emissions, lower fuel costs, and create jobs in the emerging green transportation sector.
With this development, Nigeria joins the global shift toward cleaner mobility, reinforcing President Tinubu’s vision of a modern, energy-efficient economy that works for both the environment and the people.
