President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, Governor of Kano State, on his 63rd birthday, celebrated on January 5, 2026.

In his message, President Tinubu praised Governor Yusuf’s integrity, humility, and dedication to public service, noting that his leadership has strengthened grassroots development and improved the welfare of ordinary citizens, reflecting the ideals of the late Mallam Aminu Kano.

Governor Yusuf, elected in 2023 under the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), previously served as Kano State Commissioner for Works, Housing, and Transport from 2011 to 2015 under the administration of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.

The President highlighted Yusuf’s efforts in urban renewal, including the construction of bridges and road networks, as well as his declaration of an emergency in education, which has led to improved performance of Kano students in NECO examinations.

President Tinubu wished Governor Yusuf a long life and continued success in his transformative leadership for Kano State.
