
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, CFR, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, on the occasion of his 9th anniversary on the throne of the ancient Benin Kingdom.
In a statement released on Sunday, the President joined the government and people of Edo State, the Benin Traditional Council, and members of the royal family in celebrating the monarch’s nine years of devoted service to his people and contributions to national development.
President Tinubu praised Oba Ewuare II for his consistent efforts in promoting peace, unity, and social harmony within his domain, noting his unwavering commitment to addressing societal challenges such as human trafficking and illegal migration, especially among the youth.
The President also commended the revered monarch for his tireless advocacy towards a cultural renaissance, the preservation of traditional values, and his role in the ongoing global campaign for the repatriation of African artefacts from Western nations.
As the Oba marks his 9th year on the throne of his forefathers, President Tinubu lauded his leadership in safeguarding Benin’s rich cultural heritage and ensuring its transmission to future generations.
The President prayed that Almighty God continues to bless the Oba of Benin with long life, good health, and greater accomplishments in his reign over the ancient kingdom.
