President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended warm congratulations to Oba Yusuf Adebori Adeleye, the Olubaka of Oka-Akoko in Ondo State, ahead of the annual hare festival, which also coincides with the monarch’s 82nd birthday.

The hare festival, scheduled for November 29, marks the revered initiation into the elders’ council and remains a central highlight of cultural celebrations in Oka-Akoko. President Tinubu praised Oba Adeleye’s lifelong dedication to public service, recalling his distinguished career in the Lagos State judiciary where he served across all judicial divisions and retired as a Chief Magistrate before ascending the throne in 1987.

The President also acknowledged the monarch’s national contributions, including his role as a pioneer member of the National Council of Traditional Rulers, his three-time service as Nigeria’s Amirul Hajj to Saudi Arabia, his tenure as chairman of the Ondo State Council of Obas, and his leadership as the pioneer chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University.

President Tinubu celebrated the Olubaka as a principled and wise traditional ruler whose counsel, including during the 2022/2023 presidential campaign, reflected fairness, integrity, and fatherly guidance. He joined the people of Oka-Akoko and Ondo State in honouring the monarch and prayed for many more years of peace, prosperity, and impactful leadership on the throne.
