The Federal Government, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is constructing 6,112 housing units across Northern Nigeria and the FCT as part of the Renewed Hope Housing Programme.

The projects include a 3,112-unit city in Karsana, Abuja, 1,500 units in Kano, and 250-unit estates in Benue, Katsina, Gombe, Yobe, Sokoto, and Nasarawa States. These estates come with complete infrastructure including roads, solar lights, and water supply.

The programme also includes plans to build 100 affordable homes in each of Nigeria’s 774 local government areas, with 80 percent sold at subsidised rates and 20 percent allocated free to vulnerable Nigerians.

So far, over 152,000 jobs have been created, and more than 150 slum-upgrade projects have been completed nationwide. Additional projects are ongoing in Sokoto, Kano, and Niger States. The programme supports local manufacturing and aims to reduce the housing deficit while boosting the economy.

This initiative is a key pillar in President Tinubu’s drive toward a $1 trillion economy.
