President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, to immediately travel to Niger State following the recent abduction of students by armed criminals.
The President’s directive comes amid rising concerns over the security situation in parts of the country, especially the increasing wave of kidnappings targeting schoolchildren. The deployment of the Defence Minister is part of the Federal Government’s urgent response to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students and to strengthen security in vulnerable communities.
Badaru is expected to meet with state authorities, security agencies, and community leaders to assess the situation on the ground and coordinate intensified rescue and protection efforts.
President Tinubu reiterated his administration’s commitment to safeguarding all citizens, particularly children, and vowed that the perpetrators of the heinous act would be brought to justice. He assured Nigerians that the government is taking decisive steps to end the recurrent attacks on schools and restore peace and security across the affected regions.
