President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has instructed the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security to modernise Nigeria’s agricultural sector, strengthen agricultural data systems, and ensure that every farmer in the country is uniquely identified, properly documented, and effectively supported.
In line with this directive, the Ministry, in collaboration with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), is building the capacity of all relevant stakeholders to facilitate a comprehensive farmer registration exercise across the nation.
The initiative aims to improve agricultural planning, enhance productivity, and provide targeted support to farmers, ensuring that Nigeria’s agriculture sector becomes more efficient and sustainable.
