Vice President Kashim Shettima has reaffirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to building inclusive prosperity across Nigeria through enterprise driven reforms that empower entrepreneurs and strengthen small businesses.
Speaking at the launch of the 9th Expanded National MSME Clinic in Katsina State, the Vice President announced President Tinubu’s approval of a 250,000 naira non repayable grant for each outstanding Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise exhibiting at the event. He said the initiative reflects the President’s vision to remove barriers that have long held back small businesses and to drive economic growth from the grassroots.
Shettima also highlighted other major interventions, including a 75 billion naira Manufacturers Fund to support industries and expand job creation.
In his address titled “Katsina The Spirit of Enterprise,” the Vice President described MSMEs as central to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, commending Governor Dikko Radda for his efforts in establishing the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency to nurture innovation and business growth.
He disclosed that under the Rural Area Programme on Investment for Development, 23 rural MSMEs in Katsina had received 112 million naira in support, while 576 million naira had been disbursed to 237 beneficiaries under the 5 billion naira Katsina State MSME Growth Fund.
Governor Radda said enterprise development remains a key pillar of his administration’s economic agenda and pledged continued support for entrepreneurs across the state.
Vice President Shettima later commissioned the Central Mosque to WTC dual carriageway and the Agricultural Data and Control Centre under the Katsina State Sustainable Platform for Agriculture. He praised the projects as models of innovation and development, noting that when states take initiative, Nigeria moves forward.
Earlier, the Vice President attended the maiden Katsina MSME Awards and graduation ceremony of the Dikko Innovation Academy, where he urged the people of the state to align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
