
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar Adamu, also known as the Walin Lafiya, on the occasion of his 64th birthday.
In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the former police chief for his years of dedicated service to Nigeria and his leadership during his tenure as the 20th Inspector-General of Police. He highlighted Adamu’s efforts in maintaining law and order, modernising policing standards, and mentoring younger officers who continue to serve in the Force.
President Tinubu acknowledged the role played by the former IGP in strengthening institutional capacity within the police, as well as his contributions to reforms aimed at improving internal security in the country.
The President prayed for the continued good health of Adamu, wishing him renewed strength and many more years of fulfilment, while commending his legacy of service and his lasting contributions to Nigeria’s security architecture.
