On his 74th birthday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the creation of a special fund to support members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, those wounded in the line of duty, and the families of fallen soldiers.

President Tinubu directed the Accountant-General of the Federation to establish the account, with all his salaries since assuming office to serve as seed funding. The initiative will operate alongside existing insurance and welfare schemes, directly assisting soldiers who have lost limbs, as well as widows, widowers, and children of those who died serving the nation.

Calling on governors, members of the National Assembly, the private sector, and well-wishers to contribute, the President emphasized that the fund is not charity, but a duty owed to those who serve and protect Nigeria.
