The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the commencement of the 2025/2026 Technical Teachers Training Programme (TTTP), a strategic initiative of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration aimed at enhancing technical and vocational education across Nigeria. The programme, which offers a tuition-free one-year Post-Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), is designed to upgrade the pedagogical skills of secondary school teachers handling technical and vocational subjects.

This landmark intervention reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to building a skilled workforce through quality teacher training and education reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda. By prioritizing the continuous development of technical educators, the administration is laying a solid foundation for national industrialisation and job creation, especially among Nigerian youth.

The TTTP will be implemented across designated colleges of education and universities nationwide, ensuring equitable access to capacity-building opportunities for teachers in all geopolitical zones. The programme also underscores the administration’s resolve to reposition the education sector as a critical enabler of economic transformation.

Through initiatives like this, the Tinubu-led government continues to demonstrate that education is not just a policy item but a national development imperative. Teachers who complete the PGDE will be better equipped to inspire innovation, drive technical excellence, and shape a more productive future for Nigeria.
