President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved reforms to the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation process, mandating that all graduates seeking mobilisation or exemption must comply with the National Policy for the Nigeria Education Repository and Databank (NERD).

The directive, grounded in Sections 2(4)(4) and 16(1)(C) of the NYSC Act, was officially communicated in a circular issued by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume. The move is aimed at streamlining NYSC processes and ensuring accurate records of graduates across the country.
