President Tinubu Mourns Victims of Zamfara Islamic School Fire, Calls for Enhanced Safety Measures

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families, parents, and guardians who lost loved ones in the tragic fire that engulfed an Islamic school in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, on Tuesday night.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his media aide, Bayo Onanuga, the President also extended his sympathies to the state government and the school’s proprietors. He prayed for the swift recovery of those receiving medical treatment.

Emphasizing the importance of children’s safety, Tinubu urged all public and private schools to prioritize security measures and directed regulatory bodies in the education sector to ensure strict compliance with safety standards.

The President prayed for God Almighty to grant eternal rest to the souls of the departed and provide comfort to their grieving families.

At least 17 children lost their lives in the fire, while 16 others sustained injuries, according to a local resident, Abdulrasaq Bello Kaura.
