President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has paid a glowing tribute to the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, as he marked his 55th birthday on 31 December, commending his lifelong commitment to democracy, good governance, and national development.

The President described Governor Sani as a product of sacrifice and principle, noting that his journey into public service was shaped by years of activism and dedication to justice during Nigeria’s pro-democracy struggle under military rule.

President Tinubu recalled Governor Sani’s role as a student leader and pro-democracy activist, stating that his courage and conviction during a period marked by fear and repression distinguished him as a leader of conscience. He noted that these values have continued to guide the governor’s leadership style in public office.

Highlighting his legislative record, the President said Governor Sani distinguished himself as a reform-oriented senator in the 9th National Assembly. He cited the Banks and Other Financial Institutions Act (BOFIA) 2020 as one of his notable contributions, describing the law as instrumental in strengthening financial stability, encouraging innovation, and expanding access to credit for businesses and entrepreneurs.

Since assuming office as Governor on 29 May 2023, President Tinubu noted that Uba Sani has brought a calm, inclusive, and compassionate approach to governance in Kaduna State. He credited the governor with promoting dialogue, reconciliation, and unity across ethnic and religious lines, leading to improved peace and cohesion in the state.

The President also praised the governor’s security efforts, particularly the restoration of relative stability in areas such as Birnin Gwari, where farming and commercial activities have reportedly resumed following sustained engagement with local communities, traditional institutions, and religious leaders.

According to the President, the Uba Sani administration’s investments in infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and industrialisation reflect a people-centred development strategy aimed at improving livelihoods and positioning Kaduna State for long-term growth.

President Tinubu further described Governor Sani as a dependable ally of the Federal Government and a committed member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), noting his active support for the Renewed Hope Agenda and his belief that democratic governance must deliver tangible benefits to citizens.

As the governor marked his 55th birthday, President Tinubu wished him good health, renewed strength, and greater accomplishments, while expressing confidence that his leadership would continue to contribute positively to Kaduna State and the nation.
