President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, originally scheduled for today, to honor the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away on Tuesday night. The council meeting will be rescheduled for a date to be announced soon.
Lt. General Lagbaja, who served as Chief of Army Staff from June 2023 until his death on November 5, 2024, is remembered for his commitment and contributions to Nigeria’s Armed Forces. In a show of respect, President Tinubu ordered flags to be flown at half-staff nationwide for seven days.
Earlier, President Tinubu extended his condolences to the Lagbaja family and the Nigerian Armed Forces, expressing deep gratitude for the general’s service and wishing him eternal peace.
