President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to enhancing safety and order in Nigeria’s public transportation system through the launch of newly constructed bus terminals.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, made this known during an inspection of the nearly completed terminals in Kugbo near Nyanya and Mabushi in Abuja. He noted that the terminals, which are to be commissioned by President Tinubu, will help curb cases of taxi-related robberies and abductions popularly known as “one chance.”

According to Wike, the centralized and monitored terminals will direct commuters away from unregulated roadside stops, thereby minimizing risks associated with unregistered and unsafe vehicles. The new terminals are expected to significantly enhance commuter safety and restore public confidence in mass transit systems.

He further emphasized that the projects were executed with financial discipline, funded through taxes and federal support in line with President Tinubu’s vision for responsible governance.

This initiative reflects the Tinubu administration’s broader commitment to building modern, secure, and efficient urban infrastructure that meets the everyday needs of Nigerians.
