President Bola Tinubu has renewed the appointment of Professor Ayo Omotayo as Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, for a final four-year term.

Prof. Omotayo, an expert in Environmental Sustainability, was first appointed by former President Muhammadu Buhari in November 2021, with the Senate confirming him in February 2022.

He earned his PhD in Geography from the University of Ibadan and began his academic career at Lagos State University in 1985, becoming a Senior Lecturer by 1992. He later served as Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences (2012–2017) and Director of the Centre for Planning at the university before taking the helm of NIPSS.

The renewed appointment allows Prof. Omotayo to continue guiding the institute in research and policy development crucial to Nigeria’s national planning and strategic studies.
