President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a strategic reorganization of key positions within the State House media and communications team, aimed at improving the efficiency and coherence of the government’s messaging.
In a move to better align the roles of his communications team, President Tinubu has re-designated two recently appointed officials:
• Mr. Sunday Dare, previously serving as Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation, has been reassigned to the position of Special Adviser, Media and Public Communications.
• Mr. Daniel Bwala, who was appointed just last week as Special Adviser, Media and Public Communication, has now been re-designated as Special Adviser, Policy Communication.
These changes are part of an ongoing effort to streamline communication within the government, with a clear emphasis on ensuring that there is no single spokesperson for the Presidency. Instead, the three Special Advisers, including the Special Adviser, Information and Strategy, will collectively serve as the official spokespersons for the government.
The decision reflects President Tinubu’s commitment to fostering a collaborative approach to communicating government policies, decisions, and engagements to the Nigerian public. The restructuring is expected to bolster the government’s ability to deliver clear, consistent, and timely information across various platforms, aligning with the President’s vision of enhancing transparency and accountability.
This shift in the communications team underscores the administration’s focus on efficiency and cohesion in its messaging, with an emphasis on coordinated public communication across all sectors of governance.
